The 2019 Social Innovators Programme and Awards (SIPA) on November 14, 2019, at Shell Hall, MUSON Centre will be opened by Keynote Speaker, Reeta Roy the President and CEO of Mastercard Foundation.
Reeta Roy will be speaking extensively on this year’s theme “People Profit Planet: The Tripartite Win” to advance the Triple Bottom Line (TBL) framework and the possibilities of realizing human development, sustainable enterprises and a safe planet. Prior to joining the Foundation, Reeta was the Divisional Vice President of Global Citizenship and Policy at Abbott and was Vice President of the Abbott Fund. Prior to joining the private sector, Reeta also worked at the United Nations.
The 2019 SIPA is the 7th edition of the Awards where LEAP Africa with the support of Union Bank will also unveil 20 Nigerian change agents in diverse fields with social innovation across the country. The Social Innovators Programme and Awards is a platform by LEAP Africa that celebrates youth, creativity and innovation of Nigerians between 18 to 35 years. The Awards is a grand finale for the unveiling and inducting Fellows into the Social Innovators Programme – a one-year fellowship that supports emerging social innovators whose ideas and initiatives offer effective and creative solutions to challenges in Nigeria to scale-up their innovation into sustainable and thriving enterprises.
Reeta will be joined by other globally recognized entrepreneurs such Clare Omatseye, MD JNC International; Achenyo Idachaba-Obaro Founder of MitiMeth, Solape Hammond SA to Lagos State Governor on SDGs and acting Commissioner for Wealth Creation and Employment and LEAP’s award-winning social innovators in Nigeria as panellists at the 2019 SIPA on November 2019 in Lagos.
Hosted by Bankole Williams, Founder & Principal consultant at LYD Consulting, SIPA 2019 will attract other tri-sector leaders, investors, leading tech companies, and many others to discuss and share on social entrepreneurship as a tool for achieving sustainable development goals.
